Rooms
Weskar offers different types of rooms. Some of them are small but very intimate for couples (18 m2), and others are large family rooms (38 m2). None of our rooms has TV, in order to achieve the disconnection for our guests in their holidays or short breaks in Patagonia. The rooms have central heating, safety box and hair dryer. We also have free internet for our guests, which has an acceptable coverage in the resting areas; in general, the internet in this remote region is unstable since here we don’t have the technology of the big cities, and also due to the constant patagonian wind. You will find out more information about the rooms and their features when you process your reservation.
Gastronomy
Weskar features the restaurant with the Best View in Puerto Natales. We’re proud of our kitchen, since our chef and his team give all their love in each homemade preparation. We bake the bread ourselves, and our main suppliers are small local producers, who offer cuts of Magellanic lambs and bovines which are naturally fed in the pampas; vegetables are obtained from “local gardens”, which belong to small organic horticulturists from Puerto Natales. We offer local beer which is produced with the best water in the planet, and we also offer chilean wine with a selection of the most representative national vines.
“Friend Desk”
The front desk of our lodge offers a concierge service in order to help you in booking some tours or private transportation. Among the different options you will be able to find Torres del Paine Full Day Tour, Balmaceda & Serrano Glaciers Navigation, Trekking to the Base of Torres del Paine, Horseback Ridings, etc. If you want to book these excursions in the lodge, we kindly ask you to send an email to recepcion@weskar.cl and they will answer your request within 24 hours.
Bar and Cafeteria
Located next to one of our sitting rooms, there is a small bar and cafeteria so you can enjoy a Calafate Pisco Sour, taste a gourmet coffee, or simply recover from the cold weather with a hot chocolate.
Rest and Recreation
We have 3 sitting areas, one of them with a rustic stone fireplace to ride out the southern cold weather. The sitting areas have Patagonia themed books, board games, a TV room and a small shop with natural sheep wool footboards made by grandma.
For those guests who want to visit the city and surroundings we have bicycles, which are free of charge the first hour.
Parking
Located in the lower area of the property, Weskar offers parking without charge and exclusively for our guests.
Improving in being “eco friendly”
Weskar Lodge is a sustainable hotel accredited by the Official Sustainability Certificate of Chile (S). The last few years we’ve been focusing in accomplish 3 objectives regarding the environmental protection:
– Reusing organic waste residues: Food production and the waste from the restaurant are daily given to local horticulturists, who use them to feed their animals or to produce compost.
– Our cleaning products and room amenities are free of contaminating chemicals. The napkins in the restaurant are biodegradable. We have 3 wastewater treatment plants, and we also encourage the controlled use of water in the rooms.
– Energy. 95% of the lodge’s lightning is produced by energy-efficient light bulbs and we’re currently working in setting up solar energy production to be used as emergency lightning system. Besides, room windows have double glass in order to avoid energy loss.
